What You Need to Know About Your Portrait Session
Where will the session take place?
Anywhere you want, your home, a local playground or park. The beach on a nice day also makes for a good backdrop—you make the call, or I could suggest some great outdoor settings. I generally recommend that newborns be photographed at your home: it tends to be more comfortable for them, and much easier for you! For indoor sessions at your home, pay attention to the time of day, when your windows let in the most light in order to schedule an optimal time. Sessions are usually best scheduled for the morning or late afternoon utilizing the best light.
What about clothes?
Simple, what ever you think they look cutest in, dress them in that. Casual and comfortable is best. Bare feet are always adorable! You're welcome to bring a few wardrobe changes, and we'll try to make it fun! I recommend avoiding logo shirts and busy patterns. Also try to avoid dark clothing; white, and lighter clothing always looks nicer.
Anything else I should think about?
Well-rested children with full bellies make the best models! If your child has a favorite blanky or stuffed animal—bring it! This is a chance to capture any other things your child truly loves which will make a lasting and cherished memory.
How long will my session be?
Each session usually
lasts between 1 to 2 hours.
What is a pool session?
Do you have water babies? Do they love the ocean or your pool? Well let’s just jump on in. I will be able to capture these fun moments with
digital underwater photographic equipment, producing a very unique portrait.
This is sure to be your child's favorite part of the
experience.
